Hail Damage Insurance

Hail Damage Insurance
Does Car Insurance Cover Hail Damage? Tornadoes? Hurriances? Flooding?

Do you own a business in the New Orleans area? Is your business insurance covering wind and hail damage?

I have a small business in New Orleans. I got a letter from Allstate tthat when I renew my business policy in October, they will not longer be covering any damages from windstorms or hail. That is real depresing. Has anyone else gotten any notice of this? If we have another hurricane, this policy change will essentially put the city out of business. Small businesses wil not be able to recover from that type of loss as many of us already have SBA loans from Katrina. I plan on contacting the insurance commissioner. Please feel free to email me if you have gotten notice that your insurance company will do this. If we all contact the insurance commissioner together, maybe we will be heard.

I have a friend who owns a business and had similar insurance issues and found the only way to be completely covered was the insurance offered through the state itself. At first was not very happy at his limited options but when all was said and done they ended up saving money and were apparently had the same level of coverage as they did before.

Hail Damage Claim

Hail Damage Claim
What Do You Do to Keep your Home Secure?

Can I use an insurance check to pay down my vehicle instead of fixing the damage?

Geico is the insurance company. We got a lot of hail damage yesterday to our vehicle and we have full coverage. They are starting to process the claim and I have to go to their body shop to get the damage assessment next week, but I would rather pay down my debt on the vehicle rather then fix the hail damage on it. We owe around 4,000 still. Does anyone know if you have to fix the damage with this insurance company or can you use the money to pay off the lein holder?

You do not have to fix the car – you can use the money to pay the car off, or do whatever else you want with it.

HOWEVER. Any subsequent claims you might have, the company can subtract that check for damages they gave you, from the actual cash value of the vehicle, OR, they can flat out delete the collision and comprehensive coverage from the car.

In other words, if the ACV of the car is $6,000, and you have $4,000 of body damage, they write you a check for $3500 (less your $500 deductible). Now, someone smashes into your car next week, while it’s parked. It’s not worth $6,000 any more, but $2,000. Less your $500 deductible, they total it out giving you a check for $1500 – and you have to turn the car over to them. Or you keep the car for salvage value, and get a check for $500.

You have to balance out the acv of your car, the possiblity of a total loss next week, and the possibility of losing the physical damage coverage, with the payoff of the loan.

Asbestos Campaigners Hail Government Meeting

Asbestos is a major concern of thousands of British workers in recent years, with many cases each year with the substance to be serious personal injury and death. Activists have long emphasized the need vigorous steps taken by the government, the problem quickly and safely, but many do have been left frustrated by what they see than that, a lack of access to leading political figures.

All that changed this week, however, as many delegates, to those who have suffered because of exposure to asbestos was a private meeting with Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Mr. Brown has given himself had recent experience of the damage that can be done by asbestos after a longtime friend and MP died after a long battle with Mesothelioma.

Exposure to asbestos can take many years to manifest itself in disease, one of the most trying for the concerns of activists, Work and records available to the employer’s insurance.

Concrete plans

Scottish Labour MP John MacDougall underwent a two-year Battle with mesothelioma, which he developed while working as a boilermaker, died last year and the Prime Minister had known for three decades.

Mr. MacDougall’s death has led Brown to prioritize the growing asbestos crisis, which is estimated to kill around 3,000 British workers every year, that one of the biggest causes of deaths among workers in the country.

A trade union leader, part of the delegation, with the asbestos injuries Prime Minister was discussed, said that Brown was to take the first leader in many years, such a strong interest in the problem.

“We do not have the feeling that we had to persuade the PM, there was a problem when he was well aware and we were able to convey all important points. have for the first time in decades We prepared a Prime Minister to look into this very important topic. The impression we have is that the Prime Minister was on a solution to this personal Engagement, “said Chris Keates of NASUWT.

The importance of measures

The need to deal with asbestos-related diseases was again highlighted this week in the case of a former British Rail electrician who developed mesothelioma after working in conditions that said his daughter, meant that they are almost constantly exposed to the substance.

The man, who worked for British Rail for over 25 years, died last year after a long battle the disease and after the coroner responsible for the case, his illness as a direct result of exposure while working.

“He was increasingly tired and had a cough that would not go away. Normally he was very fit and well. He would occasionally get colds, but then I would sometimes go to visit him, and he was very tired and found it took him longer to work, wanted to do it, “said his daughter.

“My father had to electrical to detect errors and recalled seeing large dust particles floating in the air most of the time. There was no separation of the area where he worked and where the asbestos cladding was “, She added.

Hail Insurance Claim

Hail Insurance Claim
I filed an insurance claim for hail damage on my roof and gutters. My Insurance company…?

has estimated the damage at $9600 and issued me a check for $6800 and I will get an additional $1400 once the work is completed.

Question 1 – If I find a roofer to do the work for $6000, will my ins. still pay the $1400 once I send them the invoice?

Question 2 – If I decided I didn’t want the gutters replaced and the total repairs would be $5000 for just the roof, would the insurance company have any problem with this? Would I still get the $1400? Thanks!!!

We do a lot of insurance work In West Virginia, the carrier must compensate you for your loss. If you find a better deal than the adjuster has estimated, they don’t owe you more than your actual loss. Answer to ques. 1. Probably will not pay you the extra 1400 unless you send them a bogus invoice. You’ll probably never get caught, but that’s a conscience thing let alone fraud.
Answer to ques. 2. If you do not replace the gutters, but they are damaged, the company is still obligated to pay you for that portion of the loss but…if you don’t replace them while they still have your file open, and say you replace them sometime later, and you have a subsequent claim, there is a good chance that they will not pay you for them since you chose not to do them initially and as far as they know, they would be paying you twice for the initial claim. If you do them later, be sure to save proof that you did, in fact, replace them at some time.

How to Get a Fair Insurance Settlement

Natural disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, tornados, and floods have been making headlines. We’ve seen hundreds of homes go up in flames in southern California; thousands of homes battered by hurricanes and tornados in Texas and the south; and thousands more submerged by the mighty Mississippi and other swollen rivers. These catastrophes play themselves out over and over. The locations may change but the story is the same: heartbreaking devastation.

While wildfires, catastrophic storms, and floods cause widespread damage, the nation’s homes are regularly damaged by less ominous forces: baseballs that break windows; stovetop fires cause smoke damage ; burst pipes damage walls, flooring, and furnishings. Other regular homeowners insurance claims include fire, theft, vandalism, mold, hail damage, water damage, and more. Throughout the nation, homeowners regularly file insurance claims, even in the absence of catastrophe.

No matter what has damaged your home, if it’s covered by your insurance policy, you can rest easy knowing that it will be taken care of – or can you? Insurance companies are businesses that need to make a profit in order to survive. Part of that profit comes from premiums and another part comes from minimizing insurance losses.

One way to minimize insurance losses is to limit what they will cover. For example, life insurance companies will likely deny a life insurance policy to a 98-year-old smoker with emphysema. After all, that would be an unnecessary risk and a bad investment, unlikely to turn a profit.

Another way to minimize insurance losses is to underestimate the damage or overlook potential losses. For example, if your house has been burglarized, the insurance company may undervalue your possessions or fail to prompt you to list everything stolen. In fact, it’s your responsibility to document the losses, not the adjuster’s.

If you need to file an insurance claim, keep in mind that although the adjuster is a nice enough person, he is also an insurance company representative who needs to minimize company losses.

You have several options to ensure that your interests are protected. First, perform a thorough home inventory. You should do this before your home is damaged if possible. Go room through room and document everything. Take extensive notes, photos, and video. During your inventory, note valuable items such as artwork, jewelry, furs, and coin collections. These often have low insurance limits. If you have such valuables, purchase an insurance rider to make sure that you are adequately insured.

Next, get organized because you will have tons of paperwork associated with your claim. Use an expandable folder to keep track of everything including receipts, repair estimates, documentation, notes, and forms.

Do your homework and read your insurance policy. Look up terms that you don’t understand. In addition, visit your states office of insurance and learn about the regulations in your state. You may have specific rights that aren’t spelled out in the policy.

Be assertive and proactive. When the adjuster visits your home, point out the damage and ask him to look for hidden damage. Make sure the adjuster does a thorough inspection. If possible, have a third party contractor, like a roof inspector (if you need roof repairs), present. The contractor will be able to point out damage that the insurance adjuster may not have noted otherwise.

Depending on the scale of your home’s damage, you may want to hire a public insurance adjuster to represent your interests. In addition, you might consider a “do-it-yourself” insurance claims kit to better arm yourself for the insurance claims battle ahead.

Catastrophe Insurance

Catastrophe Insurance
Is the property insurance market ready for the big one?
Florida’s property insurance market appears to be better prepared for hurricane season in some ways this year than it has been the past few years.
New Farmers Insurance Commercial: Catastrophe Response

Insurance sells question?

How are any and all insurance agents making out in business considering groceries over catastrophe is most important in this time of need?

If there is a 5.5% unemployment rate, it means that there is a 94.5% EMPLOYMENT rate, which means that 94.5% of the employable population is WORKING.

People need insurance, especially when the economy is not as good as it should be. Your sales should INCREASE, if you explain to your prospects that it might be harder to come up with the needed funds, should the unthinkable happen. How would a familiy’s economy be if the breadwinner was taken out of the picture? That family would be a whole lot worse off without adequate life insurance on each family member’s life.

Another thing to think about is your client’s possiblity of being disabled. If this should happen, that family’s economy will be the pits.

If you do a Financial Need Analysis (FNA) or other Total Needs Selling presentation, your sales will be easier to close, even in economically hard times.

In the Property/Casualty market, licensed vehicles and financed houses are required to be insured, regardless of the economy.
